A Modern Approach to Facial Rejuvenation
Facial ageing is not caused by skin laxity alone. Over time, the loss of collagen, weakening of facial ligaments, volume redistribution, and tissue descent all contribute to sagging, hollowing, and a tired appearance.
In recent years, collagen-based injectable treatments have gained popularity for facial rejuvenation. However, improper filler placement or excessive volume can easily result in an overfilled, unnatural look. At Om Aesthetics Clinic, we believe that true lifting is not about adding bulk — it is about restoring structural support and stimulating collagen in the right planes of the face.
Beyond Volume: Why Overfilling Happens
Traditional filler techniques focus on replacing lost volume to “plump” the face. While this may create short-term fullness, it does not address the underlying support structures of the face. When volume is added without proper structural planning, it can lead to:
Puffy or heavy facial contours
Loss of natural definition
Distorted facial proportions
True lifting requires a deeper understanding of facial anatomy and biomechanics, not just volume replacement.
A Structural Lifting Philosophy
At Om Aesthetics Clinic, Dr Neil has developed a unique collagen-based lifting technique that focuses on skin tightening, ligament support, and facial structure enhancement, rather than surface plumping. By targeting key support points in the face, this approach helps:
1. Strengthen facial ligaments
Lack of sleep can make pores appear enlarged by increasing stress hormones (cortisol) that boost oil (sebum) production, clogging pores; slowing skin repair and collagen production, leading to sagging; and causing dehydration, all of which make pores look bigger and skin duller
2. Improve skin firmness and elasticity
Another cause of enlarged pores is skin aging. As we age, we naturally lose collagen and elastin in the skin. The low amounts of collagen and elastin in the skin cause the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and saggy skin. Old, dry skin makes the pores more visible and appear larger.
3. Lift sagging tissues naturally
Lack of sleep can make pores appear enlarged by increasing stress hormones (cortisol) that boost oil (sebum) production, clogging pores; slowing skin repair and collagen production, leading to sagging; and causing dehydration, all of which make pores look bigger and skin duller
4. Enhance overall facial harmony
The result is a refreshed, lifted appearance without the heaviness or stiffness often associated with overfilling.
Collagen Injectables: Choosing the Right Stimulator
Collagen stimulators work by activating the body’s natural collagen-building process, improving skin quality and firmness gradually. Different products are selected based on skin condition, age, degree of laxity, and facial structure.
At Om Aesthetics Clinic, the choice of collagen stimulator is never one-size-fits-all. Each treatment plan is customised based on skin type, ageing pattern, and desired outcome.
The Dual Plane Facelift Concept
Ageing occurs across multiple layers of the face. Addressing only the surface is often insufficient for meaningful lifting. Our approach incorporates a Dual Plane Facelift concept, targeting:
Superficial Plane
This layer includes the skin and superficial fat compartments. Treatments here focus on:
Skin tightening
Texture refinement
Collagen regeneration
Deeper Structural Plane
This layer includes deeper fat pads, ligaments, and supportive structures. Treating this plane helps:
Reinforce facial support
Lift sagging tissues
Improve facial contours from within
By treating both planes strategically, we achieve a more natural, balanced, and longer-lasting lifting effect.
The 3-Treatment Lifting Strategy
To maximise lifting and collagen regeneration, Om Aesthetics Clinic often combines three complementary treatments:
Collagen Stimulators (Injectables)
These work internally to rebuild collagen, improve ligament support, and enhance skin firmness over time.
Ultherapy PRIME
Ultherapy PRIME uses focused ultrasound energy to target deep layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production and achieving non-surgical lifting of sagging facial tissues.
Thermage
Thermage uses radiofrequency energy to tighten skin and improve elasticity by stimulating collagen in the dermal layers. It is particularly effective for refining skin texture and firmness.
Conclusion
True facial lifting is not about adding volume — it is about restoring structure, strengthening support, and stimulating collagen intelligently. With advanced injectable techniques, dual-plane understanding, and energy-based technologies, Om Aesthetics Clinic offers a modern, expert-driven approach to facial lifting.
A detailed medical consultation is essential to assess facial anatomy, skin condition, and ageing patterns, allowing treatments to be tailored safely and effectively for optimal results.

FAQ
Non-surgical facial lifting focuses on tightening skin, strengthening facial support structures, and stimulating collagen, rather than simply adding volume. It aims to restore a lifted, refreshed appearance without surgery or an overfilled look.
Traditional fillers mainly replace volume and can sometimes cause facial heaviness when overused. Our approach focuses on collagen stimulation and ligament support, helping to lift and firm the face naturally while maintaining facial definition.
Collagen stimulators such as PCL, PDLLA, and PLLA encourage the skin to produce its own collagen over time. This improves skin firmness, elasticity, and structural support gradually rather than instantly adding bulk.
The choice depends on skin type, age, degree of laxity, facial structure, and treatment goals. Our doctors assess each face individually and select the most suitable collagen stimulator to achieve balanced, natural-looking lifting results.
The Dual Plane Facelift targets two layers of the face — the superficial skin layer and the deeper structural layer. By treating both planes, we can achieve more effective lifting, improved support, and longer-lasting rejuvenation compared to surface treatments alone.
Each treatment targets different ageing mechanisms. Collagen stimulators rebuild internal support, while Ultherapy PRIME and Thermage tighten deeper tissues and skin layers. Combining them produces more comprehensive lifting results.
No. This approach is designed specifically to avoid overfilling. By focusing on structure and collagen rather than volume, results are natural, proportionate, and maintain facial movement.
Some tightening may be noticed early, but collagen stimulation works gradually. Most patients see progressive improvement over 2–6 months, with continued enhancement as collagen regenerates.
Results vary based on treatment type and individual ageing processes, but collagen-based lifting effects are long-lasting. Maintenance treatments may be recommended to support ongoing collagen production.
Downtime is minimal. Mild swelling or tenderness may occur after injectables or energy-based treatments, but most patients can resume daily activities shortly after.
Yes. A detailed medical consultation is essential to assess facial anatomy, skin condition, and goals, ensuring treatments are no risks, personalised and effective.
