Guide to Skin Boosters in Singapore

Understanding the Options at Om Aesthetics Clinic

Many individuals explore aesthetic treatments when skincare products alone are no longer enough to address concerns such as dryness, dullness, fine lines, or early skin ageing. Skin boosters are commonly chosen for their role in supporting skin hydration, texture, and overall skin quality, with minimal downtime.

At Om Aesthetics Clinic, we offer several types of skin boosters, each formulated differently and suited to different skin concerns. This guide introduces 5 skin boosters available at our clinic to help you better understand how they differ and how a consultation helps determine suitability.

What Is a Skin Booster?

Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed to support skin hydration, elasticity, and dermal quality. Unlike fillers, which focus on volume replacement or contouring, skin boosters are generally used to improve the condition of the skin itself.

Different skin boosters contain different active components, which influence how they work and what concerns they are commonly used for.

1. Elravie Re2O

Overview
Elravie Re2O is an ECM-based skin booster. ECM (extracellular matrix) components form part of the skin’s natural structural framework.

Key Components
It contains human-derived ECM components such as collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycans (including hyaluronic acid).

Commonly considered for:

  • Supporting overall skin structure

  • Improving skin texture

  • Enhancing skin resilience

This option may be suitable for individuals seeking a skin booster focused on dermal support and texture refinement.

2. Rejuran

Overview
Rejuran is a polynucleotide (PN) skin booster. Polynucleotides are DNA fragments used in aesthetic medicine to support skin recovery and hydration.

How it is commonly used
PN-based boosters are often considered for improving skin smoothness and supporting overall skin condition.

Commonly considered for:

  • Dull or tired-looking skin

  • Uneven texture

  • Early signs of skin ageing

Rejuran is frequently chosen by individuals looking to support skin quality and radiance over time.

3. Juvelook

Overview
Juvelook is a PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid) skin booster. PDLLA is a biocompatible material used to support gradual collagen stimulation.

How it works
Rather than providing immediate volume, PDLLA-based skin boosters are associated with progressive skin support through collagen activity.

Commonly considered for:

  • Improving skin firmness over time

  • Supporting skin elasticity

  • Texture refinement

Juvelook may be suitable for individuals interested in gradual skin quality improvement.

4. Redensity 1

Overview
Redensity 1 is a skin booster formulated with hyaluronic acid and supportive dermal components.

How it works
Hyaluronic acid attracts and retains water within the skin, helping to support hydration and surface smoothness.

Commonly considered for:

  • Dehydrated or dry skin

  • Fine surface lines

  • Dull skin texture

Redensity 1 is often selected when hydration and skin smoothness are the primary concerns.

5. Profhilo

Overview
Profhilo is a skin booster with a high concentration of hyaluronic acid, designed to spread evenly within the tissue.

How it works
It supports hydration across a broader area rather than targeting specific points, contributing to overall skin quality.

Commonly considered for:

  • Improving skin hydration

  • Enhancing skin texture

  • Supporting a refreshed appearance

Profhilo is commonly chosen for individuals seeking overall skin hydration and radiance.

6. Belotero Revive

Overview
Belotero Revive is a skin booster containing hyaluronic acid combined with glycerol, a humectant that helps attract and retain moisture in the skin.

How it works
The combination of hyaluronic acid and glycerol supports hydration while helping to improve skin smoothness and elasticity.

Commonly considered for:

  • Improving skin hydration

  • Supporting skin elasticity

  • Enhancing skin smoothness and glow

Belotero Revive may be suitable for individuals whose main concern is skin hydration with improved skin feel and softness.

Which Skin Booster Is Right for You?

There is no single “best” skin booster. The most suitable option depends on several factors, including:

  • Skin condition and concerns

  • Desired level of improvement

  • Lifestyle and downtime tolerance

  • Previous aesthetic treatments

A consultation at Om Aesthetics Clinic allows the doctor to assess your skin and recommend an option aligned with your goals and medical suitability.

What to Expect During a Skin Booster Treatment

  • Consultation: Skin assessment and discussion of concerns

  • Preparation: Cleansing and treatment planning

  • Treatment: Targeted injections of the selected skin booster

  • Aftercare: Mild redness or swelling may occur and usually settles within a short period

Aftercare instructions and follow-up advice will be provided.

Safety and Considerations

Skin boosters are generally well tolerated when administered by trained medical professionals. Possible side effects include temporary redness, swelling, or mild discomfort at injection sites. Your doctor will explain potential risks and aftercare during consultation.

FAQ

The choice depends on your main skin concern (hydration, texture, pores, acne scars, or early laxity), skin thickness, age, and lifestyle. Some skin boosters focus more on repair and regeneration, while others prioritise hydration or skin elasticity.

Yes. Skin boosters are often used at different stages of the skin journey. For example, one type may be suitable during acne recovery, while another may be better for long-term hydration or skin maintenance later.

Certain skin boosters are more commonly chosen for skin repair and texture concerns, while others are preferred for hydration or glow. A consultation helps determine what aligns best with your skin condition and history.

Yes. Some skin boosters are done as a short series, while others are spaced further apart. Treatment intervals vary depending on how the product works within the skin and your individual response.

In some cases, yes. Different skin boosters may be used at different phases of your treatment plan, rather than all at once. At Om Aesthetics Clinic, treatment planning focuses on skin health progression rather than one-off treatments.

Skin boosters are mainly used to improve skin hydration, texture, and overall quality, while dermal fillers are designed for volume enhancement and facial contouring. Skin boosters focus on skin condition rather than changing face shape.

Skin boosters are not meant to add volume. When performed correctly, they aim to improve skin smoothness and glow, not create a “puffy” or overfilled appearance.

This depends on the type of skin booster and your skin condition. Some treatments are done as a series, while others may be spaced out over time. Your doctor will advise during consultation.

Most people experience minimal downtime. Mild redness, swelling, or small injection marks may occur and usually settle within a few days.

Some skin boosters provide early improvements in hydration, while others work more gradually to support skin quality over time. Results and timelines vary between individuals.

Yes, skin boosters are often combined with other treatments such as lasers or energy-based devices, depending on your skin needs. Your doctor will advise on appropriate treatment spacing.

Many skin boosters are suitable for sensitive skin, but this depends on your skin condition and medical history. A proper consultation is important to assess suitability and reduce risks.

Skin boosters are commonly used on the face, and may also be used on areas such as the neck or under-eye region, depending on the product and indication.

The duration varies based on the type of skin booster, your skin condition, and lifestyle factors. Maintenance treatments may be recommended to sustain results.

There is no one-size-fits-all option. At Om Aesthetics Clinic, the doctor will assess your skin concerns, expectations, and suitability before recommending a personalised treatment plan.
